Welcome to Mrs. Hank's Classroom
.
It is hard to believe that the year is going by so fast. Students are improving in many of the key areas. There have been 5 students who have passed all levels of the math facts timed tests and 2 more are almost ready! Keep practicing nightly as this is what makes the facts permanent! Students have become believers in the power of nightly study when they can improve by 20-30 facts in one week's time! GOOD JOB!
We are beginning a unit of study on weather and planets so conversations at home will help the understanding of these concepts. Thanks for your help in learning about famous Americans and famous places in our nation!
It won't be too long and we will begin the unit on reading time. Some students have a difficult time with this and others just need some refreshing of this skill. As with counting coins, reading clocks needs to be practiced to keep it fresh. Thanks for your help in these areas.
Reading at home is also a way to boost student improvements at school, whether it is reading to them, with them or listening to them, all elements are valuable to student success. Thank you for your time in this area. It really does pay off in the long run!
As always if you have any questions or concerns feel free to stop by or call and I will try to help.
Thank you, Mrs. Hank
