We introduced the students to Social Studies with a brief study of maps including directions and map keys.  We have done some fun activities with map grids and finding the coordinates of the symbols.  Try to use the concepts of states, countries, continents and oceans with them when talking about current events.  This will help it come to life in their working memory.

The upcoming election will be a great learning tool for our next unit after a brief study of animals in Science. We will learn about the voting process and citizenship. Talking about current events really does help them bring something to hook on to when we introduce things in school.  Thanks for your help.
