  Language Arts: American Literature Lesson Plans for week of 4/10/2006   

Monday   
Huckleberry Finn
    1.  video: Mark Twain
    2.  the video should take most of the class period
    3.  those students who missed the quiz on Friday can take it while we watch the video
    Tuesday
    Huckleberry Finn
    1.  finish video if necessary
    2.  read and discuss chapters one and two of the novel
    3.  students read chapters three and four for Wednesday    Wednesday
    Huckleberry Finn
    1.  discussion questions over chapter three
          -write questions on the board
          -students answer questions
          -discuss after collecting the questions
    2.  students read chapters five and six for Thursday
    Thursday
    2:00 dismissal
    Huckleberry Finn
    1.  questions over chapters five and six
         -same procedure as Wednesday        
         -discussion may be shortened due to early dismissal.
    2.  students read chapters seven to eleven for Tuesday, April 18            Friday   
    No School-Easter Vacation

    12.1.6 using American Literature, evaluate characteristics of novels and essays with elements of the American past
