9th grade English

Stay tuned for the reading of "The Odyssey" and "Romeo & Juliet."

Current Area of Study
We are currently working on study skills. Students are required to bring their planners to school each day with a list of homework and other important information. We are examining varied note-taking methods, best study environments and different types of test questions. The test is scheduled for Thursday, September 15. Following the test we will begin a unit of short stories.

Vocabulary and Spelling
Students in 9th grade English receive 10 vocabulary words each Monday. Students are to have the words defined by the start of class on Wednesday for group discussion. Students take a spelling/vocabulary quiz each Friday. These are freshman level words. Weeks that are shortened because of vacation, etc. will follow an altered schedule.
